D.C. Cherry Blossoms Near Peak Bloom

Cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin are a sure sign that spring has officially arrived in the District of Columbia.

Tens of thousands of tourists and locals alike took advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures on Saturday to enjoy this spectacular spectacle. The cherry blossoms typically peak around April 4, but horticulturalists have predicted they will reach their full bloom later this week because of the exceptionally mild weather that has blanked the area over the last week.
